We Should Hang Out Sometime By Josh Sundquist (Non-fiction and Biographies)

I read We Should Hang Out Sometime written by Josh Sundquist.  This book was published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.  This book is a non-fiction memoir written about the author, by the author.  This book is about Josh Sundquist, who when he was 25 years old realized that he had never had a real girlfriend.  He kept wondering to himself what was wrong with him.  He decided to track down each of the girls he had tried to date since middle school and asked them what went wrong. He also has a prosthetic leg.  This book hilariously explains what went wrong in his dating life since middle school.  In the end, of course he comes to the ultimate conclusion that there isn't anything wrong with him after all.
I really like the front cover of this book and think it's an eye-catching tool to get readers attracted to the book based on it's cover.  Overall, this book was hilarious and made me want to date the author!  This book reminded me that everyone has embarrassing stories and we're all different and unique and that's what makes us who we are.  I think that we're all on our unique life path and we'll eventually find our other half and that'll make us realize why it didn't work out with anyone else.
I honestly don't think that any students I'll ever have will be reading this book, but you never know. A potential classroom activity for this book might be to use it as a lesson to have students realize that we're all different, special, and do embarrassing things.  These embarrassing things help to make us and shape us exactly into who we're supposed to become.
