One Busy Day: A Story for Brothers and Sisters (Picture Book)

I read One Busy Day: A Story for Brothers and Sisters written by Lola M. Schaefer and illustrated by Jessica Meserve.  This book was published by Disney -Hyperion.  Lola Schaefer is my aunt and dedicated this book to my brother Nick and myself.  This book is about a girl named Mia and her brother Spencer.  Mia loves her brother and wants him to play with her but he's always too busy.  Mia keeps herself busy by dancing, painting and a ton of different activities. Spencer secretly watches Mia and eventually decides that Mia might just be a lot of fun after all!
From cover to cover the illustrations of this book are full of life, expression, and color! This story is a very simple read but greatly details the story with only a few words on each page.  This is a great book for a preschool/kindergarten classroom.
I think a great classroom activity a teacher could do with their classroom would be to discuss relationships with siblings and even friends and how sharing and playing together can be a lot more fun than doing things alone.  This may even be a good opportunity for students to draw a picture of them and their sibling or friend and underneath write about an activity they like to share with this person.
