Arianna and the Strawberry Tea (Picture Book)

I read Arianna and the Strawberry Tea written by Maria Faulconer and illustrated by Katy Keck Arnsteen.  This book was published by Ideals Publication.  A young girl named Arianna and her stuffed bear named Monsieur Le Bear arrive at a very fancy hotel where children are not allowed.  At first, the workers and guests of the hotel are not excited to see Arianna, but over time Arianna gradually changes their opinions.
The illustrations of this book do a great job portraying the emotions of the characters.  The illustrator greatly emphasizes the fanciness and elegance of the hotel and I love the way the other characters treat the main character, Arianna.  I really love this book and think it shows great morals people should keep in mind about being yourself and unique and being kind to everyone you see.
In the back of this book, are the two recipes that were very important to the story.  These are Strawberry Tea and Chocolate Tarts.  I think it would be a great idea as a class for the students and the teacher to make both of these recipes.  There could be an emphasis on math and following directions during this activity.
